We believe what we create should honor what created us.
Tierra Sagrada is our commitment to the earth, to the people behind the work, and to the responsibility that comes with producing objects meant to live in sacred spaces. Sustainability, for us, is not a trend or a marketing language — it is a practice of care, intention, and accountability.
Everything begins with what we choose, who we work with, and what remains after the flame.
Materials & Flame
Every element that forms a San Maris vessel is chosen with care — for the body, for the home, and for the earth.
Our candles are hand-poured using plant-based wax blends and lead-free cotton wicks designed for a clean, steady burn. Each material is selected with intention so that what burns into the air feels as thoughtful as what lives on the skin and in the space.
We believe the objects we bring into our homes should support wellbeing, not compromise it.
Fragrance & Air
Scent is sacred. What we release into the air matters.
We work with fragrance formulations that follow strict safety standards and responsible ingredient practices. Our approach balances natural materials, essential oils, and carefully developed fragrance blends — chosen for both safety and sensory integrity.
Natural does not always mean safer, and synthetic does not always mean harmful. What matters is how a scent is formulated, tested, and burned.
Each fragrance is selected with intention — for the atmosphere it creates and the ritual it supports.
Makers & Community
Sacred Earth is also about people.
We partner with manufacturing communities that create employment pathways for individuals historically excluded from traditional work environments — including adults with disabilities, underserved communities, and those rebuilding their lives after incarceration.
Through training, hands-on craft, and long-term support, candle making becomes more than a production process. It becomes a source of stability, dignity, and opportunity.
We approach this work with care and accountability. The goal is not charity — it is access, equity, and shared growth.
Each vessel carries many hands, many stories, and a commitment to building a more inclusive creative economy.
Packaging & Afterlife
Care does not end when the candle is lit.
Our glass vessels are designed to live beyond the burn — reused, repurposed, and kept as part of the ritual space. We intentionally choose materials that remain in the home rather than move quickly to waste.
Our outer packaging is made from recyclable paper materials and produced with lower-impact methods. Every decision is made to reduce excess while still protecting what’s inside.
We believe what holds the product should honor the earth as much as the product itself.
Our Practice
For us, sustainability is not a single decision.
It is a series of choices, made again and again.
How materials are sourced.
How people are treated.
How products move through the world.
What remains after the flame is gone.
This is our offering to the earth that holds us — and to the communities, traditions, and futures we are responsible to protect.
